Using a modern and a realistic point of view, our students chose to record this school play inside the classroom instead of the auditorium. Students also auditioned for each role separately in order to end up with the best performances. After having many takes, the students participated in the editing process of the video using iMovies with the help of their drama teacher. That way, they had a strong opinion of which scenes lived up to their expectations with regards to the quality and decided to have another shooting scheduled in order to improve their performances, raise the volume of their voices and change their body language when needed.

Apart from working on presenting the Legend Quest as a school play, we decided to work on different play scenarios for practice. Given that, students exercised their drama skills using the written legend quest scripts such as the "Golden duck" by Poland which were sent by our partners on the Erasmus program. Students enjoyed reading stories that derive from the history and culture of each country.

Drama workshop in Poland. The students and teachers are preparing a funny version of a traditional legend of Golden Duck. We are supported by a proffessional actress: Ms Monika Zaborska. Drama workshop is a great fun for everybody!

After writing the legend script, we decided to integrate some drama games and exercises which would allow our students to project their voices on stage more efficiently and less stressfully. These activities included a high energy warm-up, student volume test, imitation games, clean transitions, watching films with excellent children as actors (e.g. Wonder) and playing psychological games such as find the liar. These ideas were found either on the internet after some research or suggested by our drama teacher, Mr Spathis.

During this activity, students were guided to review the internet/news/magazines and come up with what they perceive as contemporary versions of legend heroes. In other words, their goal was to present people that have a positive impact on their lives in the 21st century. Each student presented his/her modern hero using their source of information as well as referring to the qualities of that particular hero. Some of the most popular heroes mentioned were: Giannis Antetokoumbo a Greek basketball player who went to the top of MBA starting from scratch, Albert Einstein and Ada Lovelace who made the first computer algorithm!

The legend of Differentia
When we assigned our students with writing a legend script, they were highly interested in writing an original short play based on the twelve Greek Gods which is one of the major topics of Greek Mythology. Their goal was to convey a message regarding the important of being different and accepting each human being as a unique personality. After discussing the aforementioned, they worked in smaller groups for the process of brainstorming until they concluded which characters they would include as well as the storyline. In the end, one of students was assigned to create a quiz on Forms which included questions in order to assess the understanding of all students participating in the writing process.
