Short-term student exchange took place in Athens, Greece from 21 to 25 May 2018 Activities: -dancing workshops (boys- street dance), body drumming workshop (girls- body drumming modern dance)- all the students guided by dance teachers practised the show -rehearsals for the show- practising the national dances and common dances -sports activities (swimming, water polo, basketball), -discovering ourselves- teambuilding games, getting to know each other -local trips- Museum of Acropol, Temple of Poseidon, ancient theatre, Plaka, modern part of Athens: The National Library, -countries presentations (ICT)- presented during the common show to the school community and the guests -visiting the the Greek school and the lessons -workshops on robotics and Minecraft (science lesson)- students worked in groups Main task: to create a multicultural show with dances Students from Greece, Poland, Turkey, Germany and Slovenia cooperated: -to boost self-confidence -to develop cooperation, teamwork, problem solving and self-presentation -to promote mutual respect among partners involving tolerance and acceptance of diversity of cultures and people -to exchange experiences concerning school life -to develop better attitudes and ways of acting and thinking towards learning and teaching The students worked together during the week to prepare a common dance show. The show consisted of: -the schools, regions and countries ICT presentatins -traditional national dances -common dances -speeches of the project coordinator and the headteacher of the Greek school -the show was led by the students The students were very excited. They brought national traditional costumes to present their dances. Before the show they were shy and not sure if they looked good. After each dance the audience (mostly teenagers) showed their enthusiasm. The rise of the students' self-confidence and satisfaction was amazing. After the show they indicated how important acceptance and appreciation of their culture and diversity is to them. The common dances were really precious as they showed that together they can do something special and have fun at the same time. As the guest students lived in their Greek friends' houses they had an opportunity to know each other better and practise their English language skills. All of the students engaged in this activity raised their skills in: speaking English and a little of Greek, Turkish, Polish, German and Slovenian, dancing, ICT, discussion, self-presentation.
