Bolaman Ortaokulu School

Obraz

Our school is located in a rural town of Black Sea coast called Bolaman which is 9 km from Fatsa, Ordu. It provides education for both primary and secondary parts in the same building. Our school has 514 students (234 in primary school, 280 in secondary school) aged 6-14 years, 43 teachers (17 in primary school, 26 in secondary school), a headteacher and 2 vice-headteachers. Our classes are usually between 15 and 20 students.        Most of our students arrive at our school by transport from neighboring villages and are members of different social groups. They usually come from disadvantaged families (families with low-income and problematic relationships, different generations living together). Therefore, there are many problems in providing parent-school cooperation and the school is the only place for such kind of students where they can develop their interests and skills. They are not supported educationally by their parents.
